Nifty eyes 7600, Sensex firm; ICICI plunges, Lupin & Bharti up

Stock Tips
The market gained marginal strength amid volatility, aided by infra, HDFC group, technology and pharma stocks. However, banks and oil stocks were under pressure.

The 30-share BSE Sensex rose 62.88 points to 24933.57 and the 50-share NSE Nifty climbed 26.35 points to 7589.90. The broader markets outperformed benchmarks with the BSE Midcap and Smallcap indices rising 0.5 percent and 0.9 percent, respectively.

Larsen & Toubro surged 4 percent following Q3 earnings. With maintaining outperform on stock and target of Rs 1469, Macquarie says given the investors concerns, broadly maintaining guidance is a positive outcome and stock is likely to see a bounce back.

HDFC Bank, Infosys, Lupin, Adani Ports, Wipro, Cipla, Bharti Airtel and BHEL were up 1-2 percent while ICICI Bank fell 3 percent.

Sensex, Nifty firm as Feb F&O series starts; banks down

Stock Tips
The market is holding firm as February Future and Options series starts. The Nifty is up 36.55 points or 0.5 percent at 7461.20 and the Sensex is up 106.08 points or 0.4 percent at 24575.65. About 986 shares have advanced, 698 shares declined, and 89 shares are unchanged.

Coal India, GAIL, Sun Pharma, ONGC and HDFC are top gainers while ICICI Bank, SBI, Axis Bank, Maruti and Bharti Airtel are down.

The Bank of Japan adopted negative interest rates for the first time at the end of its two-day policy review on Friday, buckling under pressure to ease concerns about the health of the world's third-largest economy.

Sensex flat, Nifty volatile ahead of expiry; Power Grid gains

The market has opened marginally lower ahead of expiry of January derivative contracts. The 30-share BSE Sensex fell 5.68 points to 24486.71 and the 50-share NSE Nifty declined 3.45 points to 7434.30.

ICICI Bank, GAIL, Lupin, Adani Ports, NTPC, Power Grid Corporation, Cairn India and Vedanta were early gainers while losers were HDFC, Bharti Airtel, Maruti Suzuki, L&T, Sun Pharma, Asian Paints, Coal India and NTPC.

The Indian rupee opened lower by 10 paise at 68.15 per dollar today against previous close of 68.05.

The dollar weakened against the euro and the yen after the Federal Reserve left interest rates unchanged.

INDIAN EQUITY MARKET OUTLOOK- 27 Jan 2016

The market gained strength in noon trade with the Sensex rising 71.07 points to 24557.02 and the Nifty climbing 20.85 points to 7457. The broader markets also gained further with the BSE Midcap and Smallcap up more than half a percent.

Sensex rises over 150 pts, Nifty strong; HDFC, Reliance lead

HDFC Bank , the country’s second largest private sector lender, is expected to continue to report stable earnings for October-December quarter.

The market remained strong in morning trade with the Sensex rising 173.87 points or 0.71 percent to 24609.53 and the Nifty up 52.90 points or 0.71 percent to 7475.35, tracking positive global cues.

Asian markets also gained with Shanghai and Hang Seng up 1-1.8 percent, tracking a 2-2.7 percent rally on Wall Street on Friday. Crude oil prices extended gains after surge on short covering. Brent crude rose 0.7 percent to USD 32.40 a barrel.

HDFC, Reliance Industries, HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, TCS, Sun Pharma, Tata Motors and ONGC were leading contributors to Sensex's gains, up 1-2 percent while Axis Bank and Bharti Airtel fell more than 1 percent.

Nifty extends rally, Sensex jumps 300 pts; banks, auto lead

Equity benchmarks extended short covering-led rally in morning trade with the Nifty eyeing 7400 aided by banks, auto, oil and infra stocks. The broader markets gained too, with the BSE Midcap and Smallcap indices rising over 1.3 percent.

The 30-share BSE Sensex rallied 323.30 points or 1.35 percent to 24285.51 and the 50-share NSE Nifty rose 100.60 points or 1.38 percent to 7377.40. The market breadth was strong as more than five shares advanced for every share declining on the Bombay Stock Exchange.

The Indian rupee recovered in the early trade post breaching 68 level in the yesterday's session.

It opened higher by 24 paise at 67.78 per dollar versus 68.02 Thursday.

Sensex, Nifty crack 1.5%; Asia drops on global growth concerns

The market continued to be under selling pressure in morning trade following global weakness. All sectoral indices traded in red with the Nifty Energy, Bank and Metal falling more than 2 percent.

The 30-share BSE Sensex fell 379.90 points or 1.55 percent to 24099.94 and the 50-share NSE Nifty declined 118.10 points or 1.59 percent to 7317. The BSE Midcap and Smallcap indices lost more than 1.6 percent.

INDIAN EQUITY MARKET OUTLOOK- 18 Jan 2016

There seems to be no ending to selling in Indian market. The Nifty is now below 7400, first time since June 2014. The 50-share index is down 45.50 points or 0.6 percent at 7392.30. The Sensex is down 145.36 points or 0.6 percent at 24309.68.About 199 shares have advanced, 1851 shares declined, and 63 shares are unchanged.

Nifty Bank is also below 15000 for first time since 2014. Nifty Midcap is at 52-week low. Bajaj Auto, Bharti Airtel, Cipla, ONGC and Hindalco are among major laggards. GAIL, Infosys, NTPC, TCS and ITC are gainers in the Sensex.

INDIAN EQUITY MARKET OUTLOOK- 15 Jan 2016

The market has opened volatile on last day of the week following mixed Asian cues. Investors digested crude oil correction and China concerns. The 30-share BSE Sensex rose 66.42 points to 24839.39 and the 50-share NSE Nifty advanced 13.45 points to 7550.25.

Infosys, Dr Reddy's Labs, Tata Steel, Maruti Suzuki, Hindalco, Vedanta and Idea Cellular gained 1-2 percent while ONGC, Tata Motors, Larsen & Toubro, ITC, HDFC Bank, HCL Technologies and Kotak Mahindra Bank were losers in early trade.

The Indian rupee slipped in the early trade today. It opened lower by 6 paise at 67.35 per dollar versus 67.29 Thursday.

Dollar gain bolstered by gains in the US stock market and a rebound in oil prices.

Even after strong Infosys results, the market seems to be unmoved. The Sensex is down 229.24 points or 0.9 percent at 24624.87 and the Nifty slips 80.75 points or 1 percent at 7481.65. About 252 shares have advanced, 1615 shares declined, and 65 shares are unchanged.

INDIAN EQUITY MARKET OUTLOOK- 4 Jan 2016

The market has kick-started first trading week of 2016 on lower note. The Sensex is down 155.31 points or 0.6 percebt at 26005.59 and the Nifty slipped 49.30 points or 0.6 percent at 7913.90. About 631 shares have advanced, 557 shares declined, and 791 shares are unchanged.

GAIL, HUL and Wipro are marginally in green while Bharti Airtel, M&M, Lupin, Hero MotoCorp and Tata Motors were laggards in the Sensex.

The Indian rupee opened lower by 11 paise at 66.25 per dollar versus 66.14 Friday.

"The rupee is expected to trade on weaker note today on bleak fundamental data on fiscal balance released recently. Weak equities may keep pressure on the rupee today." Yen traded near the highest in more than two months as investor appetite waned for risky assets. The dollar index held firm near 99 mark.
